Christmas in the Big Room

December’s unit is not very Christmassy since we’re going through The Story and are nowhere near Jesus’ birth (that’ll come in March!)

We’re looking at kings in the Bible (David & Solomon) and pointing to God, our King of Kings.  With the royal theme going on, our theme song for this unit is “We are royalty,” and memorizing a verse about God’s kingship:

We are royalty

But of course, it’s CHRISTMAS!  So if you want to dust off some of the Christmas favourites of years past, here’s a few songs:

Baby Jesus, We Love You!

Away in a manger

Christmas Bells (to the tune of Jingle Bells)

Christmas bells, Christmas Bells,

Ring them all the day.

God the Father sent His son on that first Christmas Day.

Oh, Christmas bells, Christmas bells,

ring them all the day.

God the Father sent His son on that first Christmas day.

Baby Jesus (to the tune of Frere Jacques)

Baby Jesus, baby Jesus, (cup and rock your arms)

born to us, born to us. (arms on chest)

Come let us adore Him, Come let us adore Him. (praying hands)

Joyously, joyously. (Arms up)

Baby Jesus, Baby Jesus (cup and rock your arms)

Born to us, Born to us (arms on chest)

You came to save us, You came to save us (raise hands to heaven)

Amen, Amen (prayerful hands)

Baby Jesus, Baby Jesus (cup and rock your arms)

We love you, We love you (hug yourself)

We’re going to heaven, going to heaven (point upwards)

Thank you, Thank you (prayerful hands)

Have fun!  And just in case, here’s the scripts for the upcoming units:
